April is everything you could ever want in a broker. A historic property expert and dealhound who rarely pays retail, April is known for her wicked smarts, Southern charm, and devastating wit.
She’s an interior design whiz and trained home stager who knows exactly what it takes to maximize the value of the home you’re looking to sell. When you’re looking to buy, you’ll be amazed how well the homes she shows you fit your taste and your budget.
When you find the right home, she’s an experienced, detail-oriented negotiator with a talent for getting you the absolute most for your money. You’ll be glad she’s on your side of the table. Especially if she’s ordering the wine.
Betcha didn’t know that April followed the band R.E.M. from Athens, GA to New York City during her freshman year of college.
Kendal Thompson, Realtor
Kendal@HiveRealtyRVA.com
Kendal is a quick-witted Richmond native who is no stranger to scouting for the perfect home. Before joining Hive, he spent years marketing RVA to film and television producers as a location for their projects.
When he isn’t combing the streets looking for perfect homes for his clients, you can find him with friends at one of Richmond’s many watering holes planning a getaway to some distant shore.
Betcha didn’t know that Kendal has a twin brother who’s a seasoned Realtor in North Carolina.
Jennifer Fleming, Realtor
Jennifer@HiveRealtyRVA.com
Jennifer has been with our firm since 2015. With a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, you might guess that Jennifer is a big-time “people person”—and you’d be right. And with over a decade of experience in school administration, you’d also be correct in assuming that she’s über-organized and more than able to keep up with rapidly changing details that come with real estate transactions.
She’s a mother of two who loves Richmond city living and working with her clients to make smooth, stress-free life transitions into the home of their dreams. Before she found her in-town home in RVA, Jennifer went to school in New York and traveled throughout India and Nepal (among other places). She’s an insatiable learner who loves cooking, wine, music, and traveling.
Betcha didn’t know that Jennifer’s love of food and cooking led her to study at the prestigious L’Ecole de Cuisine La Varenne in Paris. Google it and you’ll see why the response rate to her dinner party invitations continues to trend strong at 100%.
Charles Terrell, Realtor
Charles@HiveRealtyRVA.com
After globe trotting around the world in the medical device industry, Charles retired early and followed his passion for real estate going back his early days while attending Georgia Southwestern University. While there he assisted a leading real estate agent in farm sales and maintenance. Unlike many of the other realtors in the office, Charles has seen a farm and actually lives on one now although he loves his time in the city! His unique experience in all things “estate” make him a valuable asset to the team, where he has helped on properties in the outlying areas of Richmond, but is still able to expand his sales into the urban historic districts of the museum District, Fan and Church Hill. You can often find him enjoying a cup of coffee at one of the hot new cafes or teaching the less adventurous agents in the office about the art of the French Press.
Betcha didn’t know Charles has a passion for fishing, bird hunting, kayaking , skiing – you guessed it – all things outdoors!
HRH Kensington, Queen Of All She Surveys
By Appointment Only
Kensington is a feral cat who lived in a Museum District home (guess which street?) whose owner had passed away. April met her after purchasing the home from her caretaker’s estate and took care of her as she helped supervise the renovation.
As you’d expect, she did such an excellent job that April, um, “hired” her on the spot. Kensington invites you to come see her at our Carytown office, but warns that she may not be available without an appointment.
Sassy Stuart, Princess Of the Realm
She’ll Call You If She Needs You
Stuart became part of the Verve team when Kensington requested a conspirator. She, her litter mates, and mother were found under a farmer’s barn just outside of Raleigh, NC. giving her just the spunky outlook needed for the job. After reviewing several other applicants, Kensington chose Stuart because she was newly weaned, excited, and “hungry”.
So far, she’s shown herself to be a quick study with very sophisticated taste in upholstery.
